High temperature floating ball valves are manufactured in accordance with API 6D. The valve is configured in a forged bolted two-piece split-body design with a small diameter, suitable for medium/low pressure working conditions. Characterized by simple design, the valve seats are directly inserted into the body.
The upstream flow pressure pushes the free-floating ball against the downstream seat-the resulting compression provides a perfect leak-free sealing solution.
The stem is connected at the top of the ball and allowing the valve to open and close with a quarter-turn movement.

Closing the Valve: To close the valve, the ball is rotated 90 degrees (or a quarter turn). This brings the solid part of the ball into alignment with the flow path, blocking the flow of fluid.

Floating Mechanism: The ball in a floating ball valve is not trunnion in position. Instead, it "floats" between the inlet and outlet seats. When the valve is closed, the fluid pressure pushes the ball against the downstream seat, creating a seal. This pressure-assisted sealing helps ensure a tight closure and reduces the need for high torque to close the valve.

Flow Control: Floating ball valves are often used for on-off control, meaning they are fully open or fully closed. However, some designs allow for partial opening, providing flow control by rotating the ball to a position between fully open and fully closed.
